accounts not working with 2.3

hi i have been using the last load of beta builds but during the last three or so, any new users i make don't seem to work, it wont allow you to access the server, only with the user accounts created before the last 3 builds

once i try and log in as a user the server says this...

but i know the password is wright because i copy and pasted it.

I replied to the other thread, rejetto or someone with more knowledge of the account system will jump on eventually.

I do not know why your passwords don't work, its not really my department, it could be something to do with some options save or something, try using save to file, instead of registry.

i tried the save to file, the only difference is that once you try the first time it will load the template in the background, thats the only difference....

dose make it look nicer though

i suppose ill stick it out here on the forum and see if someone else has any ideas

1. after you save options to file, try to send it (hfs.ini) to support@rejetto.com
i will try to load them and test your last account.

2. your screenshot is very strange  between "account properties" and "password" there should be some options, but i see only scratches.
Same as for the buttons that should be under the account list.

the reason it shows like that is because i press alt when taking the screen shot,

if you bring up that screen and then press alt it will show up like that, here is a screen shot without pressing alt
i dono why that happens when you press alt...

also quick networking question, i have opened port 300, this means i have to put ":300" at the end of my URL, if i open port 80, will that mean that there is no need for numbers at the end of my url?  will it not conflict with my web browser on the same computer is that for outward connections and port 80 is open for incoming connections?

thank you again, i have lots of eager people waiting for there user accounts to work, and its weird because today the "guest" account stopped working and that was the one that was working before, now there is only one account that works and that is mine "phatty" account

ok, i got your ini
- started hfs by loading it
- i see all your accounts (and can read the password by clicking on the "password" field)
- i locked the home to "any account"
- opened the homepage firefox, it asks for the password because the home is protected
- i enter tomm / test
- all is fine, the page is shown and the username is reported

i also tried to select all accounts in permissions, instead of "any account".
same, successful.

i don't know what else to try.
if you can try sending to the same email your VFS file.

No. Incoming and outgoing ports are independent. You don't need to specify :80, as it is the standard web port. Exactly like you don't have to specify it for rejetto.com .

The 'button disappearing' bug if pressing ALT I have, too. May be something with Aero.

i finally loaded both your ini and vfs, and the account tomm works for me.
i just don't know.
i may eventually remotely access your PC with HFS and see if i can understand more.

soz i have not replied in while, i have been doing my end or year course works at uni (i wanted HFS so could get stuff from uni)

its probably the easiest way to remote desktop for a temp period

let me know what time or day and ill be there (GMT) email me, i will respond quite quick to emails.

ok dont worry about having a look, is there a way of starting all the settings from scratch without looking folder structure?
like accounts and dyn dns template.... so on...?

of even better resetting alll the settings apart from the template?
