I told my friend to use hfs. That's version 2.0. He's behind a network, and it turned out ok.
Now new version 2.1.088 comes out. This time my friend can get through "self test" but IE shows "Unable to connect" or "The page cannot be displayed" error.
Does "self test" prove port correctly forwarded? And why old version works fine?

Does the old version uses the same port as the new one? Make sure they are both running on the same port. (if the old one runned at port 8080, then make sure the new one also runs on 8080)

Yeah, exactly the same port.
And that old version is 2.0 build032.

when the self test says OK, then HFS is OK. :)
the problem is on the IE side. maybe you are using the wrong address.

many people reported such problem, and indeed the problem was always on the browser side, not in HFS.
