V. 1,6:
There aren't shown any virtual folders...(only in 1,6). Why?

No, i'm talking of all (yellow) folders created in HFS under XP
All folders inserted with Drag'n'Drop by the Exlporer are shown.

I am an a Win 2000 system and using 1.6 RC6 and some foldersare not showing up.  None of the yellow virtual folders are showing up and some of the purple real folders aren't.  I tried RC5 and had the same issue.  I went back to RC4 and all of the folders show up.  The virtual folders were added after I loaded RC6

also had this problem last night..  Server was running and added a virtual folder seperated by space Example: "This Folder"  when I refreshed the page in my browser it did not show up.  But If i just copied and pasted the full URL from the HFS virtual dir (http://IP:port/THIS FOLDER)  it showed up in the browser!  This is the first time I saw this behavior!

Ok, I just found that I can recreate this everytime in 1.6 rc6.

1.  Create a "NEW FOLDER" and refresh your browser and the folder will not show up.  But if you copy and paste the link from the file tree to your browser it is there.  So it looks like the "NEW FOLDER" is not getting populated in the html link that is generated?

2.  If you "ADD FOLDER"  (add a real folder from your HD) then it shows up in the browser main server page!

it looks the virtual folder problem is fixed, but how about "NEW LINK"?

Is "NEW Link" supposed to show a web link on the generated server page?  It seems not to show anything?

This text refers on RC7!

Me again ;)

Yeah HFS is the best, really :-)
But still some problems

1st: I also think, web links still aren't shown...

2nd:I don't know if you have this problem, too but virtual folders till aren't shown if there is only user acces...

I hope s.o. can check, if this is a real problem or only to find on my HFS.

bye powertillo

I just downloaded RC7 and am no longer having an issue with the virtual folders whether set for unprotected access or protected access.

I am also having the issue with the new links

I had a current link in HFS and that one works fine but if a new one is added, HFS treats it like a folder and puts the http://ip address:port infront of the link.  This causes a page cannot be displayed.

i see no problem with folders and links
can you please report me how to reproduce the bug?

for the links, HFS does add anything to the URL, so you have to specify http:// if it is a web link. If you do not, your browser will think www.website.com is resource within your server.
i guess this is a common error; in next release there will be a warning in the dialog.

Ok, I will show you now PRECISE.

with this text you just can compare with your system and easier see where could be the problem.

I tested like the following:

To make it short, some shortcuts:
e - empty
f - a file
p - user acces only

V-  virtual folder (yellow)(created by right click --> new folder)
R - real folder (dropped by Windows Explorer, and Auto updated (purple))
X - real folder dropped by windows Explorer WITHOUT auto updating (yeallow, too)
L - Link

root/         shortcuts   shown
   folder 1   f in V      yes
   folder 2   R in V      yes
   folder 3   X in V      yes
   folder 4   e in V      yes
   folder 5   X      yes
   folder 6   R      yes
   folder 7   e in V (p)   no
   folder 8   f in V (p)   no
   folder 9   X (p)      no
   folder 10    R (p)      no
   Link 1      L       no
   Link 2      L (p)      no

I hope you all can unterstand this chart ;) it shows: Links are never shown, and any folders aren't if they are password protected...but try yourself...

bye POWERTILLO!!!

sorry if my english isn't the best ;)
