Thanks.  But, there's no sound.  What form of clickable link allows the end user to achieve playback?

It immediately caused 5 Gigabytes of traffic, but it didn't play any of them.

Need to avoid downloads unless the play button is clicked.
After the play button is clicked then it would be nice to download/play one at a time (not all at once).

that sounds like a mime type issue
is the mime type defined and is it set to open directly in browser?

I've added FAQ

P.S. Throwback-X is working for me, if you remove location.search=shuffle,

...You can add id='menu-bar' to the element the play button should appear...Set var dur=0 to avoid preload...
That made the play button work.  Probably need to Re-shuffle when pause is clicked.

It does still download 1 mp3 file every time a page is loaded, even if the play button wasn't clicked.
So, var dur=0 removed most of the preload bandwidth problem, but not all of it.

fixed (only metadata of first file downloaded)

P.S. you can style the play button  .play {color:green}

Now that works!  #happydance

Throwback10 + DJ's music folder player.

Edit:  The feature is in Throwback10Media http://rejetto.com/forum/index.php?topic=12055.msg1064412#msg1064412

Tiles&Stripes fusion experiment
« Reply #125 on: June 14, 2019, 11:24:45 AM »
I've tested your experimental templates. Tiles.tpl looks great as an image gallery, but on normal file listing, Stripes.tpl look better.
Here's an auto-gallery fusion of tiles&stripes, plus type-sort provisioned and DJ's music player too.
For file listing, it uses div's instead of table cells.  This is quite different.

Using this at home

Throwback10media has photo thumbnails and DJ's music player.

I've done some UI work to make the features noticeable to end-users.

As of today, this one is running on my server.
On those large folders, it performs faster than expected.

template file can be found at the first post, or http://rejetto.com/forum/index.php?topic=12055.msg1064412#msg1064412

More UI work. Looking for ideas.

The menu banner at the top works fine on the phone.
However, when it expands to fill the wide PC screen, then end-users don't see the features.

My son didn't spot the file search box for 1/3rd of a year.  Probably has looked at it many times, And hasn't seen it yet.

Developers spend much time; However, end-users skim-read in a portion of a second.
So, the end-users literally 'can't see' some features.

Previous UI challenges because of the user skim-reading behavior:
1). Any error message = 'it has death--do not use' (this is fixed, since v4)
2). Too many options = 'can't tell what its for--no focus' (this is fixed, since v7)
3). Screen too empty = 'it is blank/nothing-here' (this is fixed since .98, v10, vTS)

Current UI challenges:
4). Minority of end-users thought it was for reading, unaware they should download files (wt?).
5). On the PC screen, menu items and functions too far into the corners are ignored (didn't see).
6). Majority of end users are still unaware that they could or should upload files (didn't see).

Since the current challenges aren't a problem with the phone screen, perhaps a narrow width header is called for?
Top-center menu?  Even larger fonts?  Any suggestions?
