HFS: Introduzione

Cos'è HFS ?

HFS (Http File Server) è un software di file sharing che ti consente di inviare e ricevere files. Puoi limitare questa condivisione a poche persone come pure estenderla al mondo intero.

HFS è differente dal classico file sharing in quanto non esiste network. HFS è un web server che usa la tecnologia web per essere più compatibile con l'internet odierno.

Come in un web server, i tuoi amici potranno effettuare downloads di files con il semplice utilizzo di un browser web, come, ad esempio, Internet Explorer o Firefox. I tuoi utenti non devono installare alcun altro nuovo applicativo.

HFS ti permette di condividere i tuoi files. Molti server web vengono utilizzati per pubblicare siti, ma HFS non è stato creato per fare questo. Tuttavia, sei libero di usarlo in qualsiasi modo tu desideri ma, ricorda, - a tuo rischio e pericolo -.

Installazione

HFS non necessita di installazione. E' sufficiente inserire il file "hfs.exe" in una cartella di tua scelta (forse chiamandola HFS), e lanciare l'eseguibile.

Al primo avvio del file, ti sarà richiesto se intendi integrare HFS nel menù contestuale. Scegliendo l'opzione "yes", avrai la possibilità, semplicemente tramite il tasto destro del mouse cliccato sulla risorsa di tuo interesse, di aggiungere un file, una cartella o anche un intero disco in HFS (rendendolo accessibile per il download). (Questa opzione può essere richiamata dopo l'installazione in: Menu→Other options→Shell context menu.)

Basic instructions

HFS really is very easy to use.

   * Run "HFS.exe".
   * In the window (left-pane), drag&drop all the elements to share.
   * Communicate to your friends the address of the items to download. 

After you drag&drop the files, the address (ie. the URL) is automatically copied to your Windows clipboard. If you then use, say, a chat window, just PASTE to send the address.

Alternatively, if you chose to enable the context menu, just right-click on the file/folder to share, and select "Add to HFS". HFS then automatically runs, shares the item, and copies the URL to your clipboard, ready to be pasted.

Notice that at first, "You are in Easy mode". It is recommended that you stay in this mode until you have used HFS a few times. Simply click the message to change to Expert mode.

Uninstallation

Use the Uninstall command from the HFS Main menu.
