if you are using a normal HFS template, you have to edit the template at [file] section and remove all the fields like %item-modified%

to run 2 instances you have to disable option "only 1 instance" in every instance

to run 2 instances you have to disable option "only 1 instance" in every instance

Save options to file... re-run HFS

after disabling the option, you should restart hfs.
i tried it right now, and got no problems running 2 hfs.
1. you should run the same version twice. different versions MAY not work.
2. check if there's an hfs zombie process, and kill it.

first sorry for the late reply,

here is a discription of the site i am already running:
-build 242#,
-starts with windows,
-saves options to registery and auto saves VFS on exit,

the second instance of the HFS i am trying to run is as following:
-build 155#,
-(has a modified stock template) for mobile phone
-(want to start with windows just the above mentioned and save options and stuff) however when i start up the second instance for it automatically imports the VFS or filesystem of the above mentioned, i tried solving this by making another VFS save file but didnt work.
-it doesnt start with windows (i have already enabled the option)

i want to run both these instances simultaneously with each other every time i run windows.. (just FYI i have only 1 user a/c on windws as i am the only one using that PC.)

thanks

Write a short batch file to start the second hfs and execute it with 'programmed tasks' scheduled with 'every time windows starts'.

I would also try to use the same version on both instances - you can use your #155 template with an actual beta!
your computer has no brain - use your own !

Hi!

"i want to run both these instances simultaneously with each other every time i run windows.. "

Try with this:

For HFS Build #242:

DISABLE/DEACTIVE/UNCHECK/UNMARK "starts with windows"
DISABLE/DEACTIVE/UNCHECK/UNMARK "only 1 instance ..."
Go to hfs #242 folder, create a shortcut of hfs.exe #242 file.
Browser your "Start Menu", go to "Programs", "Start", move here your new hfs #242 shortcut.
Rename to HFS #242, for example.

For HFS Build #155:

DISABLE/DEACTIVE/UNCHECK/UNMARK "starts with windows"
DISABLE/DEACTIVE/UNCHECK/UNMARK "only 1 instance ..."
Go to hfs #155 folder, create a shortcut of hfs.exe #155 file.
Browser your "Start Menu", go to "Programs", "Start", move here your new hfs #155 shortcut.
Rename to HFS #155, for example.

Tell us the result!
Bye.

Another solution:
Use HFS 242 for running the second instance.

For HFS Build #242 (first instance):

- Activate: Menu > Start/Exit > Run HFS when Windows starts
- Deactivate: Menu > Start/Exit > only 1 instance
- Menu > Save options > to file

- Create in the folder of hfs.exe a file named hfs.events containing:

[+start]
(.exec|C:\ path of the second instance of hfs\hfs.exe.}

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the second instance (all versions of HFS accepted):

- Deactivate: Menu > Start/Exit > only 1 instance
- Menu > Save options > to file

EDIT: Never save options in the registry for use HFS as multi-instances.

Don't use the same hfs.events for the second instance of HFS, each new instance will execute another one until out of memory.

 ;)

for 2 instances you must save options to file, as suggested by silentpliz
