Can't say about 2.2e, never used it, but in 2.3 beta build 217
Menu > Start/Exit > Auto Save VFS On Exit
If this is checked you wont get a prompt.
Its also good to check mark
Menu > Save Options > Auto-save options on exit

Hi, thx 4 quick answer, but:

Menu > Start/Exit > Auto Save VFS On Exit
-> in 2.2e it is available too; if I put a mark on it, I only gent another windows for saving.

Menu > Save Options > Auto-save options on exit
-> this option is available too.
BUT I cannot change it; in another setting there stand: leave blank for diable it. It is, nothing happens.
But at this place, where Auto-save options on exit stands, it is marked; below there is something for disabling it, but it gets no mark ...

Thx.

PS: I am still using version 2.0.
There are these options too, and there the 2nd one isn't changeable like in 2.2e - but there ist NO prompt ...

Ok, another try ..

I've got the beta 2,3-217 - I checked/unchecked the marks at the points and - NOTHING, I get a prompt, no matter, what I am doing. Check marks doesnt stay, they are changing their status itself to the start option. But this is secondary, because they DONT work as they should

After changing the options you have to save manually the options, otherwise with the next start you reload autimatically the previous options settings. At least this works so if you use hfs as a 'clean app'  and save to file and not to that f.... registry.

It seems to be that you forgot this step. There is no prompt at exit nor do the options change their status when you restart hfs.
your computer has no brain - use your own !

I can make changes to vfs or options, then "Menu > Exit" hfs. When I restart
hfs those changes are still there, not lost. (build 217)
I think, that if I reboot without manually saving new changes first, changes
may be lost, but none the less, I never see a prompt.
Long ago I found that if I make any changes I manually save options and vfs
just to be safe.

Look at your hfs.ini and see if

auto-save-vfs=yes
save-options-on-exit=yes

With hfs open and set the way I want it, I've had to
delete the .ini and manually "Save Options to File", to
write a new ini to cure a problem, at times.

Menu > Start/Exit > Auto Save VFS On Exit
-> in 2.2e it is available too; if I put a mark on it, I only gent another windows for saving.

i tried this option in version 2.2 and 2.3
when this option is enabled, i get no saving dialog.
my test was
- started hfs 2.3
- created a folder
- quit
- the dialog appears
- restart hfs 2.3
- enabled that option
- created a folder
- quit
- no dialog...

and continued with 2.2

If you still have the problem we should try to reproduce it on my computer.

I don't know ... something is still wrong ...

- starting hfs is ok; problems are available only IF:

- adding files to hfs using context "Add to HFS"
- sometimes external IP is not logged in; seems that it is different on files types ...
- both save options descriped are on YES - and still I get a prompt !

- some times hfs hangs up and I have to kill it's process

Help .... please
