If you are running windows open up the command prompt by pressing WIN+R and then typing in "cmd", a black window should appear with white text. Type in the command "ipconfig" and check that under IP Adress it says 10.0.0.2, that is your internal IP and your router should forward the port to that address. Ensure that the port opened in you router is the same as in HFS and finally check your external IP to ensure you are trying to connect to the right computer.

I have to agree with Fysack here, Jason has not yet responded to rejetto's suggestion which may aswell solve the problem. Some routers have Virtual Server instead of, or even in combination with, the Port Forwarding feature (like my own router). In this case, you will have to make use of the Virtual Server function in your router to get HFS to work.

All of this is explained on portforwarding.com, so sorry, but your post was alot of blabla and fysacks posts (for a change) were not.

Yea Mr.Guest

that came from the right mouth..

Considering Jason wrote help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! supplied with verry little info, i assumed he was not aware of this could be a router spesific problem.
So instead of asking a question, that would lead me to ask a new question, i asked a question that would lead us closer to a solution. Its called: the elemination method

and fysacks posts (for a change) were not.
I learn from the best  ;D

I don't know about other people, but when I see someone spamming after asking for help I sudden;y have the urge not to help them. If you want help post as much information as possible, the more we know the more likely we are able to help you. Google search if other people have had problems with your router, try different ports, see if any errors come up, try running HFS on a different computer, don't give up and don't start spamming the forum just because you can't get it to work.

No you don't need a $600 router, I have a fairly cheap D-Link router that works perfectly fine with HFS.
