I made this post earlier, but sent it to the wrong section. I have no programming knowledge or script writing experience. So a lot of info I'm reading is foreign to me. HFS is excellent. I have looked at a few other file servers and find HFS to be the best and probably the easiest to use for a novice like me. For my purposes, I have chosen (That Stevens Guy's great Orange & Blue template with Logon and thumbnails included). I've reviewed the ReadMe file and tried to follow instructions, but I am still unable to get the template to work properly. How do I get the template to go from the Logon screen to the HFS main screen? When I type in "guest" as the username & password, nothing happens. I do see the template in the HFS Template Editor, but haven't the slightest idea of what I'm looking at. Are there any commands I should know about? If so, then what are they & where should they go? Any & all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ok for the guest account u have to create a 'guest' account, with guest as user and pass and set it to a folder. Then the login should work for that account.

I urge you to not use that old template and upgrade to my newest template, the Thunderchicken of Glory. The new template is a lot more powerful and... better...

That old template i made when i had very little knowledge of css. Some of the js is a little more recent, i think i quickly updated it once, but overall that template is extremely outdated and i haven't updated it in like... 10 months, and don't plan to update it. Not until i decide to rewrite it.

mars and bacter... WTF? animals and races... i just deleted your posts, they make no sense and their relevance... ffs i dunno. :-X
mars, if you are going to post, at least answer the questions, instead of going off on tangents about how each template is an animal with its own race or some crap. If you haven't got a straight answer, then it is just spam. edgyse even posted in confusion about the posts.

Thanks for the suggestion and O&G instructions regarding the creation of the "guest" account. I will go back to the drawing board and try your ToG template. Again, thank you for your response and thanks for defending my language state of confusion. Keep up the good works...
