would anybody be interested in a template creator?
cos i'd be happy to make it if people would use it.

so please say if you'd like it or not.

That would be an awesome idea... i am a multimedia student at university, and i can do HTML, and CSS no worries, but the way HFS works took a little while to get my head around, it would be nice for a template creator to be built for the newbie web programmers. One that a person could see the results instantly on each page of the HFS. Like a minature version of dreamweaver for simple HFS templates would be really handy. I know nothing about about building programs so i cannot help you with that... my knowledge is mostly about making thinks easily usable and look good :). I think ledufe was building a program for hfs templates aswell...

well my basic idea on it, is like, drop down choices, and a color wheel, cos those are always good :P

but like, so you selet how it does it, then it just builds the page..basically...

hey, im doing this...im a little busy trying to learn another language, i just know asp 1.0 and html, and css by self learning, but at the moment im doing a big step ....im learning c# (c - sharp) and my project to learn the uses of the language is a hfs .tpl builder, that will do the stuffs you mentioned, if you wana test it...it is on the early stages , but im learning and updating it every day....
at the moment im focused on the part of the importing a template alread done, the part that make the template already work, at least ive develop the funtion to write the template, and doing some great advances in this project..... i already asked if someone would help me, but if you wana try and star your own project, well we can exchange some information about what a tool with this purpose should have...
by the way my post talking about this is at http://www.rejetto.com/forum/index.php?topic=3559.0  , but if you want to start a new project you can count with my help and opnions if you let me....

and the link to my early project in LUA is at the:
http://ledufe.no-ip.info:2222/HFS-TOOLS/hfs-tb/hfs-tpl-builder.rar and the sources http://ledufe.no-ip.info:2222/HFS-TOOLS/hfs-tb/hfs-tpl-builder-07-08-2006.am6

and the new version in visual studio 2005 c#, made with my (only one month learning!!!)
the binary compiled:
http://ledufe.no-ip.info:2222/HFS-TOOLS/hfs-tb-c-sharp/HFS-TB/bin/Debug/HFS-TB.exe
and the sources:
http://ledufe.no-ip.info:2222/HFS-TOOLS/hfs-tb-c-sharp/

it would be nice to learn at the same time with someone else and increasing the functions of the tools at same porpotion that we learn the language, it is easy to learn...
but if you guys already program in another language, well i "will" learn c# and still, will finish this project of a tool like this, and would be equally nice to develop something with the same purpose...

later i will post the functions that i wish this tool would have, some of then i already implemented on my tpl builder....

well, that would be great, apart from i program in VB.net :P

but yeah, we can exchange ideas.

and a handy little tip - i find it easier doing like a plot of how i want it to look in paint - that really helps the look of the finished project.

what should in a tool like this:

- ability to open and import a existent template
- ability to export the template after all the sections doned
- it would be nice to support in some way the insertion of the special symbols used inside the template like %style%
- preview the the template before publishing (without the need to load the template inside the hfs)
- in this preview, also it would be a cool feature to see the images tha are embeded inside the hfs, like the login image...
- and i think that i will add also a form to generate the .comment file for any file or folder
- it would be cool too to have a screen tha would ask if you wanna add some other section like [file.jpg] or [file.EXT] and join this section inside the generated template

and i have some other ideias like make the template builder create a windows service for the hfs...

i am about to recompile the new version of this tool, and with some great news....just wait.....one of hte greatest news is that i am making a way to change the template remotly  ;D
just a clint page to "fire" some commands to the host machine and this command just write to the hfs.ini and reload it, so the template and almost all the options of the hfs could be changed remotly, i wish to know something, is there a way to make the hfs add or remove some file/folder from vfs "via" command line? or via ini-file?
if that was possible, we could have a admin pannel real soon....
