download managers & password problems

I'm having a problem with password protected folders and download managers. I've tried different ones, but still get a 401 error (authorization of username & password). If I remove passwords the managers work fine.

I noticed that it doesn't add the user name & password when you copy the URL of the file to be downloaded. I I manually add it, the manager works, but I shouldn't have to do that.

IE & Opera work fine with passwords, but using a manager is best.

Any suggestions, or is this a bug/feature?

Thanks

1. a good dl-manager let you input user/pass, or by prompting you a dialog, or by manual options

2. HFS 2 already has a menu for copying URLs filled with passwords, maybe "copy passworded url", renamed in "copy url with password" in HFS 2.1

Sorry, I thought I was logged in when I opened this thread.

OK, here's what's happening:

"Get passworded URL" works fine for folders, it's the files in the folders that are the problem, it only copies the username, but not the password for files in a password protected folder. If I manually add the password it works.

yes, it is a bug, i will fix it.
anyway, it is not applied to files instead of folders.
it applies to inherited passwords.
and it is not related to accounts, but just to the "set user/pass".
this fix will be included in the 2.0a but also in the 2.1

I really would prefer to have an option available so that when a user starts a download, the username and password is also transferred to the download manager.
