Just one suggestion:
would it be possible to use the 'normal' template editor for the diff template? The window currently used is a bit small...

you can still
use diff editors
:) like me i use "edit+" ( edit plus)
or notepad
or any prog that you like ...

another thought is an option to use external editor
and you would be able to set a command line for the external editor :)
