Hi Guys,

I have been using HFS 2.0 Beta 23 for a couple of weeks and have been very impressed but I am having a problem with mp3 playlists.

I have HFS set up on my home server and use it to access my MP3 collection from work.

I generally right-click on the file I want to listen to, copy the shortcut and then use the Open URL feature of Windows Media Player to stream the music file (rather than download it and then play it) so that I can listen to it as it downloads.

However, when I try to do the same with playlists (m3u) files, Media Player seems to access the files in a totally random order. If I try to do the same on  my internal home network (as opposed to across the internet) it works fine but using HFS always displays this behaviour.

I've looked at the Microsoft websites and various forums but can't find any info on how to fix this - any ideas?

M

That's not a HFS issue.  Music from m3u playlists across the net through HFS works fine here.  The streamed music is played in the order they are listed in the playlist.  Do you have shuffling turned off in your player?

Maverick,

I didn't think it was necessarily an HFS issue - I just thought someone here might have an idea what's going on.

Def not a shuffle issue as playlists work fine on the same laptop when connected on my home wireless network - the problem only occurs when I try to play the playlists through HFS.

Cheers,

M
