This is my default hfs.ini. I run hfs with this .ini to avoid gettting that "first time" nag screen. Maybe that's the reason?

Whats the file size limit. I tried to tranfer this 6 gig file in my home network but it seems to not be able to. I tried it with a download manager but the same things happens. It seems that it has a  2gig limit. Is that true?

So is there a limit?  8O

i think the latest version started suddenly take lots of CPU and the window didn't update when transferring one file...why are the older betas removed? would be nice if they were available still... didn't have this problem with beta 31 i think it was...

I have most of the old betas available.  If you still need one or more to try, just let me know which ones you need.

Yes, I'm well aware of all of that.  Not new to me.  Just a personal choice for personal reasons.  Thanks for dropping by. :)

prob: The 2gb limit is inside your download manager.  I'm pretty sure hfs doesn't suffer from this limitation.  It was removed about a dozen betas ago.  To test you are able to download the file, try using wget for win32

http://users.ugent.be/~bpuype/wget/

Yes it is a command line utility, so it may be kind of annoying to use.  What I do, is on the computer you want to download from the hfs server, launch a web browser and browse to the hfs page.  Then right click on a file and click copy link url.  Then goto start -> run -> cmd

Browse to the directory where you put wget.exe and type wget

Then hit the space bar.

Then right click anywhere in the cmd window.  Then click paste.  Then hit enter.  It should be downloading at that point.  If it doesn't get past 2gb, either hfs or your file system is limiting it.

Hello :)

The maximum file size seems to be 533 MB.

No that is not correct. I made another test. 2.0beta34

Created a 10GiB testfile and added it to HFS. Then downloaded...

Internet Explorer 6.0SP2: stopped exactly at 2147483648 bytes, no error.
Mozilla Firefox 1.5: stopped at 4294971734 bytes with an error.
Opera 8.51: stopped at 2.147.483.648 bytes, no error.
Getright was able to download the whole file. Note that I used only one file-segment, that means, 10GiB with one connection.

This is the logfile from Getright:
Code: [Select]

Interesting.  Looks like the max file size limitation is determined by the type of browser used and possibly by the type of download manager used.  Doesn't look like there is a limitation as far as HFS goes  otherwise I don't think HFS would have accepted the 10GB file.

I'm curious.  Can you run the same test with Opera (latest is v8.51)? It would be nice to see how the 3 major browsers compare.  If you don't  use it, I understand.
