1GB = 1024 MB = 1,048,576 KB = 1,073,741,824 bytes
1 MB = 1,024 KB = 1,048,576 bytes
1 KB = 1,024 bytes
1 byte = 1 byte

alpha24 is here!

Changes:
+ Menu -> Other options -> "Delete partial uploads"
+ Download counter now works also for real folders
+ "File list" link generating a list to feed download managers
- "Flash task button: on download" was flashing on every GET request
- fixed the "Disconnect no reply"

Greetings from Sweden. Found HFS last week, and have been goin crazy every since! GREAT JOB!

Just downloaded alpha and love the uploading capability! I have installed this on my home network so
I do not have to create shared folders!  However, you are right...
The template I made for 1.6a didnt work...

Why do you think it is better then standard sharing of resources for internal LAN ?

First, we are just sharing that same ADSL modem using mixed OSs....
XP just doesnt want to see or talk to win98se systems (at least at my home).

I am also using this for a test bed case for my school. They do not need
shared resources all the time. Just a only if the teacher wants to share a
document or 2 during class. Saves space on the mail server, too...
Not needing to email every student the files. AND This lets the teachers
maintain their own system without needing the ADMIN all the time.
Saves space and time... Just create a Swedish Template and there you go.
 WOW not bad, ej?

Not bad, but also not the right way to my opinion . Sharing resources IS possible also with 98-XP combination (same workgroup is required, and the same username is preferred  ) .
And the teacher CAN share a single directory with the class easily.

Well, have fun with HFS...

two minor problems:
*  when pressing F9 for self-browsing, it always using the lasy opened IE window. It wil help if we can have an opition to choose to open a new window (so not to "destoy" previous page)
* when disconnecting a downloading session - the other side sees a normal finish of the download, and the partial file is saved, Is it possible to "signal" it - NOT to save the file ? like abnormal connection termination ?
* Does the global setting for "realm text" in other-options work ? It DOES seem to work for indevidual forlders' setting
* speed limit - does not work for uploads. I thing we should have different limitter for uploads

1. there's no standard way to ask the browser to open a new window. what i can do is to let you customize the command line (already in to do)
2. there's no way to "signal" it, and there's no need, because the client already knows the total size, and then it know it has been disconnected before complete. your client may think it is better to save the partial file.
3. that is the login realm. the global realm should be the one associated to the root node, but it is disabled if it is not protected. it should be enabled regardless of the protection. the question is? should this be true only for the root?
4. i fear we will never see upload speed limit. didn't i discussed about it yet?
