no need for it, single file comments works also in real-folders
Yes, but I have to manually create each single file comment file - right or am I missing something?

Hi all, I am able to add Google and MSN search to my webpage but would like to know if a search option could be added to the HSF server so a person can search files on the server, lets say a person is looking for a song I can place an m3u file in the HSF folder and the search would look in that m3u file for the file name.
thanks, this is a great software  :D

when you ask for features, see if they are already in the to-do list, or this forum will be filled with answers like "it is already in to-do" ;)

A work around until the to do is complete, you can create a ***.bat file to run from your desktop and drop a list of the music (***.mp3) into a ***.txt file within the music directory.  Get you friends to download the ***.txt file and they can search the file (edit,find) for the song, artist, whatever.  I use this method and the family love it.

Oops forgot to login....

Create a new .txt file, rename it whatever .bat and put this in the body

echo off
cls
dir YourRootDirectoryHere:\MusicFolderHere\*.mp3 /s >SameRootHere:\SameMusicFolderHere\MyMusic.txt

Double click your .bat file when complete and check er out.

Hope it helps
Cuz that's the way it is.

Sorry rejetto, but...
1. I don't see "See last server response" in my beta 41
2. "abort file addition" more visible - I still haven't come across it.  Where do I find it?

@maverick

"See last server response" does only appear after at least 1 update/try.

@rejetto

I had problems with automatic update (beta40 ---> beta41). It seemed to announce the right (beta41), but downloaded the wrong file (beta40 again). Tried several times, no luck. Updated manually, works now. B)

edit:
Code: [Select]
HFS update info
[last stable]
1.6a
[last untested]
2.0 beta41
[last untested build]
026
[last untested url]
http://www.melauto.it/rejetto/hfs.test.exe
[EOF]

h**p://www.melauto.it/rejetto/hfs.test.exe - maybe the wrong (old) file?

I have loaded and unloaded HFS 4 times.  Cleared my cache.  Accessed my NO-IP account successfully each time.  There must have been at least 1 or possibly more updates and I still don't have the "See last server response"   option in Menu -> IP address -> Dynamic DNS updater.  Maybe that option is buggy.

Maybe it is with NO-IP... I tried with DynDNS and the message appeared.

I quess that is possible.  rejetto will be able to sort it out. ;)

I don't have a dynDNS or CJB account to test.  I'm not totally sure, but that "last server response" option is probably the same response shown in hfs.ini -> "last-external-address=" .  (A DNS update would take place if that address is different than the current one).

My last server response was notfqdn, which probably means "no update required, IP still unchanged".

i just tested NO-IP with fake user data.
it "worked", the "see last server response" appeared, and i got this:
Code: [Select]
---------------------------
HFS 2.0 beta41
---------------------------
status=4
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
i guess it means i entered wrong password :)

anyway, HFS now logs DNS updates, so you can know when it occours. (other events)

moreover, entering DNS data forces an update. this happen also when external IP doesn't change.
