No I don't use Opera, but I'm in a testing mood B)
I think I'll give it a try...
edit: Opera test completed, original post updated.

Thanks MarkV.

I thought the download limit for IE and Opera would be around 2 GB.  Your testing confirms that.  Firefox test results is a little troubling to me as I also thought it should have the same/similar download capacity as the other two browsers.  Your test results show firefox has about twice the download capacity compared to the other 2 browsers *but* with a download error which isn't good.  I don't imagine such huge files are transfered that often to be really concerned about it.

Hello Maverick,

Firefox having twice as much bytes downloaded is clear concerning the data types and their ranges in windows:

Code: [Select]
integer   32 bit  -2147483647 -  2147483648
DWORD     32 bit            0 -  4294971734
Int64     64 bit        -2^64 - 2^64

DWORD is sometimes called Unsigned Integer or something like this. I used the Delphi/Pascal names of the data types, in C(++) they are named slightly different.

HFS uses Int64 all the time. This means files can be nearly unlimited in size. If you type 2^64 in your calculator, you know what I mean  :D
16 Million Terabyte, if I didn't make a mistake in dividing it down from number of bytes...

So you see, the only problem can be the downloader. HFS is great!
Cheers,

Martok

Hello Martok.

Thanks for the information.  Very interesting.  An "YES" HFS is GREAT!

It seems to like using 100%CPU when people are downloading big files, and I'm not quite sure why.

EDIT: Nevermind... I found that was only because stupid Symantec Auto-Protect was scanning the server logs, for every byte that changed...

why are the older betas removed? would be nice if they were available still... didn't have this problem with beta 31 i think it was...
previous beta is always available just forging the URL for download
since i have little webspace, i can't keep all versions online

1.) Is the template section [upload-failed] still valid?  If so, how is it triggered and when?  I have tried different things (cancelling upload etc.) and this section of the template doesn't get activated.
i fear the only way to get that section ATM is this one: Minimum disk space reached

2.) I also think "simultaneous" is a better word to use instead of "contemporaneous".

Rejettto,
could you please open a topic called "Router&Port Problems" and make it sticky.
since there is no possibility to move a post to an existant topic, i created a forum

Failed to create key *\shell\Add to HFS\command
HFS 2.0 beta34
you got this because, i guess, you were using a limited user instead of an administrator.
anyway, that kind of error is unwanted, i thought it was managed in another way
