Alright, so I use HFS for my own personal reasons. Be it streaming movies, music or retrieving other files I need, I've almost always used this. As stated in the title, I'm on version 2.3i of HFS. For my system specs, I'm on the latest windows 10 update, my root folder with HFS in it is on an SSD (may affect it, I have no idea so I'm just including everything possible), my CPU is an Intel i5 4690k. I've tried using folders from both my SSD and HDD, trying both real and virtual folders. It just random closes at times. Doesn't stop responding, just closes. I've made sure that the no download timeout is disabled, and I don't really know what else it could be. i was a "critical security update", so I don't really want to roll back, but I will if I have to.

first, i would double check that the executable is not corrupted (some AV/ spyware programs will close them --HFS has been identified as a "false positive", as it is a web server)* double check antivirus/antispyware...

first re download HFS (this way you are the most up to date current version. (i think 2.3i is the lattest, not 10% sure)

second, try running the program as administrator. (right mouse click run as admin... it could be a windows file permission issue)

third, if you can send a log, or have it log everything form the menu. the log file can be of help here.

I have used hfs through the free upgrade, and many a reinstall of win 10. I have yet to face the random closing issue that you are describing.
With the move to hfs 3.0 and github. I'm using Unraid and HFS 3 as a docker. Any File Mentioned is now removed from my google drive.

Downloaded it again a few times, made sure my AV allowed it through, ran as admin and it still closed. Log from which menu? The debug one or the log menu?

weird, both in this case, i would like to see the event viewer log, to get more info, on why/when it closed... sounds like a ram issue...

Both logs now, form hfs mentioned earlier, mainly the standard log form the menu, not debug.
Both, as run as admin is causing problems(this usual bypass permission issues)

kinda curios on what your running it on, a dxdiag would be nice...

if the above didn't help, there not much help anyone on the form can do, with out knowing why it crashed, or what happened when it closed...

dxdiag would give me you pc spec with other info, event viewer log would tell me exactly what happened, hfs logs would say when it went down along with time stamps for faster search in event view, along with addition info form hfs that might have caused or show the cause of the problem...

sorry, but i'm not going to be of much help hear...

I added the macros log from the debug menu, because the log menu one only shows connections and requests primarily. Absolutely nothing about it shows up in Event Viewer. Attached are the log that has any substance to it, as well as my DxDiag results. Just change the macros-log.txt extension to .html to display it properly.

from reading your dxdiag, you have a fairly stable gaming machine, with some small software errors.

Form what you posted, you had 9 actual app crashes/errors: "+++ WER9 +++:"
Let windows update finish its install..., you seem to have a problem with windows updates...
*Not fully related here for hfs issue, but also, your program "game bar", is breaking / crashing quite a bit.

hfs macro log... din't dhow me much to see an issue/ forced close...

the last bits stated you are using a "macro delete" method, witch failed.

form that log, you session on the browser is also in the notes:

I'm not seeing any reason why hfs is closing on you...

a more experienced user would be of help here...

Yeah, I know about the windows update thing. It keeps telling me how it can't finish installing things. I had very little space on my OS drive prior to the last time it tried to update, so I've removed stuff and deleted stuff in the downloads folder under the SoftwareDistribution folder. It should be fine now, if not, I'll look into it more. I don't believe I have anything set up to try and delete stuff. Then I got that log, I just sat in front of my computer doing nothing until it closed. Hopefully someone else will pop in.
