Hi folks:
I am a newbie to HFS, but seems to be a great program. One question regarding loging in:

I direct my browser to "http://mywebhop.org:2500"  (as I am using a cutom port)
It dislays the opening page of HFS - I clock to "login" button in upper right corner and it asks for a user name and password which I provide. When I click OK I am redirected to "http://mywephop.org:2500/~login" and it says the page cannot be displayed. I hit the back button and I am back at the start up page but now the "login" button has changed to show that I am logged in? How do I correct this issue? I cannot seem to find this in the forum, I assume I am missing some configuration item?

Best regards, Dave Melnyk

Please note that a web hop is a redirect page so attempting to access a sub page of your server from one may not work (I can't remember).  I think you wanted dynamic DNS.

May I ask: are you using URL cloaking?

Hi, .. thanks for the reply I am not using url cloaking. Interestingly I set up HFS with a "real" download directory (named "download") and a sub "virtual" directory underneath that I named "mysub". If I go to the url "mywephop.dyndns.org:2500" and then click on the "download" directory and then click on "mysub", I am prompted for a username / password and when I click "OK" I get logged in and it simply shows the files in the "mysub" directory - no problem. It is only if I use the "login" button on the upper right when I get the first page that I get bounced to the "page cannot be displayed". Any ideas?

I've had this happen also.
Mind telling us what template and operating system you are using ?

Hi There ... not sure what you mean by other "magic pages", or for that matter templates ... simply downloaded and ran the HFS program and followed the configuration info listed on the website. Where do the "magic pages" or "templates" reside? I am using Windows XP Pro SP3

Hi folks ... it seems the problem is related to using an earlier version of Internet explorer - version 6 (which I keep for testing my web sites) - with IE7 the problem does not occur. Perhaps a change is needed in the template somewhere (did figure out how to access /import / export the templates ) but seems a bit complicated to understand at the moment. If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated ...

i'm sorry you are facing this problem, dave.
i can hardly test anything, having no IE6 but 7.
does anyone else know if IE6 is working or not with the default template?

You can test, thanks to Microsoft...
