There has been a lot of new Macros invented which allow a user to modify content and settings of the server. But I think only the minority want these features actually built into the template itself... I am not comfortable adding these sorts of features to the 'User' template, it will just make them more confusing to edit than they already are, and the features are things that I think only administrators of the server should be able to access.
This is where our administration panel will come into play. This was discussed
here. The administration panel will be placed in a hidden folder of your choosing, in the root of HFS (top level, like '/template'). it will only be accessed by typing in the folder name in the address bar. It will be locked both with manual HFS login prompt, by choice of the user, and with a macro check for the 'Administration Group' or some sort of detection of administration privileges.
So I have come to the conclusion that the current templates will basically stay how they are. I will update them with the latest bug fixes and the updated RAWR-Players but I will not add the functionality for 'Administration' type Macros. You can add them later if you are capable of doing so. But at your own risk, I take admin privileges seriously, as most of HFS is hosted on home PC's which may contain sensitive data. People running HFS should be in the habit of backing up their files but I fear that is not enough.
I have also decided that I might make a new template which will make nice use of the 'Download Only Selected Items' feature that has been brought up in discussion but not implemented yet. It will look a lot different to the current RAWR-Designs templates, there will be no modules on the right hand side, and it will only show information that would interest an external user. At first this template will only be available in English, but slowly as time goes on, I will add in languages, just like in the current ToG and RAWR-Template. It all just rests on when rejetto will release this feature, although I might make a working prototype, just to test the theory, if I get bored later this week.
