It seems that HFS is not able to save files to a Real Folder if the filename contains umlauts (äöü). I use HFS 2.2d
The Logfile seems to be happy with the upload and files containing no umlauts are saved correctly:
14:49:14 myuser@123.123.123.123:31454 Uploading filename-with-äöü.jpg
14:49:16 myuser@123.123.123.123:31454 Fully uploaded -  156,66 KB @ 120 KB/s

But it doesn't appear in the FS.

Anyone else had that effect?

You're using Unicode filenames, HFS doesn't fully support Unicode, yet.

Make this test.
1. pick a file (or create one) with name containing äöü
2. drag&drop it to the virtual file system
3. see if the filename is displayed correctly on the HFS window (not the browser)
4. report here the result of this test

Hi rejetto,

drag&dropping a file in the Virtual file system works, but it doesn't appear in the physical file system nor does it via http.
Stranged. I advised the users to replace the umlauts, so it's ok for me. But if I can help you testing just write.

And thank you for HFS, it's very useful :-)

Sorry, what I wrote was not correct. (I use HFS via Remote Desktop and had two instances running... not good...). However, dragging & dropping in the Virtual File System works in so far as it appears now on the http-side. not in the physical file system.

But the initial problem was that a user tried to upload a file containing umlauts with a web-browser. That didn't work at all.

what you mean with "physical file system".
i want to know if you can read the correct filename inside the HFS window, left box, the one with "virtual file system" title on top.
do you?

The folder on the Hard Disk. Files uploaded via http are displayed in the web frontend and appear in the hard disks file system.
