I go
menu -> save option -> to file

But nothing gets saved, as the port # I use doesnot get saved, so I have to open the ini file and put the port # in manually, but the problem is that I couldn't find where other options are in the ini file, to put things manually, like user restriction, root binding on the vFS etc.

NOTHING? so, the file is empty? or there is no file at all?

as the port # I use doesnot get saved,
if no port is saved is because you left port decision to HFS.
if you set it manually, HFS saves it.

those things are not in the options but in the VFS file.
you should save it as well.
for performance, this is not a simple text file.

OK I got it.

Initially where you get it, you only get the HFS.exe file, when you save the options, it just saves the menu options and creats an ini file.
When you save the vfs filesystem to a file name of your choosing, save it in the same directory as HFS.exe, so that when the next time, it starts it'll pick it up. If it cannot file a vfs file, it load athe defaults.

Thanks

someone seems to be confused by the difference between VFS and INI data. hmm....

by the way: the autoloading of the VFS file you saved, is configured in the INI file.
so if you don't have an INI file, the VFS file won't be automatically loaded, you got to load it manually.
