It's a weird problem. Recently, I have been noticing that files transfered through HFS in my LAN resulted file damaged, but it seem to be fine when transfered other people externally. I know I can use the XP's file sharing feature for LAN sharing, but I am just doing test within my home network.

It was fine before (I remember I did not encouter this type of problem when I use 1.6a). But I noticed files transfered through my 2.0alpha2x~25 HFS (either to or from) somehow caused damaged files . (not too sure the problem started from alpha22)

For example, I transfered *.rar file, most files appeared to be broken with CRC errors inside the archives. I used IE and flashget to download my files, but the files transfered both damaged. I had to add recovery info to rar files to fix damaged files when transfering through HFS (in LAN).

However, my friend who connected to me externally did not complain about this problem.

Does anybody encoutered this type of problems when transfering files in LAN?

Thanks in advance.

1. was the recovery info able to recover your files?
2. does this happen with version 1.6 ?
3. did you tested with a non-rar file? (e.g. jpeg)
4. try to compare a corrupted file with the correct one, to understand more about the problem. if you are not able to do this, you could give them to me, in this case use a small RAR file (30KB).

I think I have solved this weirdest problem. It's probably my router's fault. My router (LinksysBEFSR41 , at least 2yr old). It has been causing my network disconnections more and more frequently and with lowered network performance recently. Last night, it seemed to be totally broken (b/c I couldn't even ping my router) that I need to replace it with a new one (SMC).

Having replaced with a new router, immediately, I found files transferred through HFS in LAN no longer damaged. Something must have gone wrong with my old LINKSYS router that files transferred in intranet are no good anymore (files larger than few hundred KB almost all damaged). Although it's really strange and seemed to be unlikely, it explained that why my files sent to friends outside my LAN were all normal.

Sorry! rejetto,
HFS does not casued file damaged. It's my router's fault.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

HFS is really a great app,
thank you very much. :D
