filezilla user forum gave me a link to your site and suggested I look into HFS instead of FTP.

I need to send files (folders would be better) to users who are not tech savvy-they are more like consumers.  They all have web browsers-mostly IE.

My ultimate would be to upload files to my server, then send them a link.  When they click the link, it would bring them directly to the file/folder they need to download-or a screen with a list would be easy for them to see which is theirs.

I need to make sure users can only download their own stuff, but have no problem password protecting each file/folder.

Typically, a user will need to download 24-36 files all in one folder.  So you can see why managing at the folder level would be better.  I would rather not zip files-they get confused on how to unzip (I told you they were like consumers).

Cab HFS do this?

Steve

simple answer.
yes.

you can also give your users ther own login and pass , then they can only get the files you add to that account.

there are several ways to do it.
roughly from your description i can suggest:
group files by folder, then "hide" the folders so that occasional visitor don't see it listed, only those who get a direct link to the folder can access.
