How to configure HFS http Files Server behind a proxy server?
on:

Hi,
my desktop is behind a proxy server (proxy.xyz.de:1234).
Any chance to configure this great tool so that "self test" succeeds?
Thanks!

welcome!
you must route incoming connections to your computer.
can't you even open a direct connection to an internet server without passing through the proxy?
HFS doesn't support the mechanism offered by SOCKSv5, in case your proxy does (most proxies don't).
consider asking your internet service provider.

...thanks. I can only configure the internet browser, not the proxy or firewall.

i know of paied services offering "tunnels" through VPN.
i used it for few months, 6-7 years ago, and it worked.
i know no other way for you.

...thank you.
At home, the tool works all right. No proxy running and full control over router's firewall.
