Trouble figuring out port forwarding

This is my first time trying to use a ftp, so I'm a little inexperienced.  I've setup HFS so I can type in my inside router ip address (the 192.169 one) but I'm lost on setting it up so I can access my files from outside of my home network.  I've gotten into my router's (linksys) control page (192.168.1.1) and told it to open Port 80 in port range forwarding section.  Then I determine my external address using HFS.  I type that into web browser and instead of opening the HFS file server, it goes into something called EQ-660R which I can log into which opens a Web Configurator by ZyXel.  This is the point I'm lost.  Is this some sort of second router?  I don't know how to access HFS other than typing in that external IP address given.  Any help here would be great.

HFS is no FTP.

As you are inside the LAN you have to use the private IP to access HFS.

The ZyXel is your modem. The Linksys is your router (with cables?) or is it a Zyxel routermodem and a wireless device by the name of Linksys?
