Is it possible to configure HFS from a remote location?  For example, I want HFS to display hidden files but I don't want to drive to work and make the change?  Is there a way to do it from home?

you can do this with any remote control software like vnc, tight-vnc ... and others, which will give you full control over your pc.

Yes, I am aware of that.  I was hoping for a solution as simple as uploading a text file with new settings to my HFS server would do the trick.

Security of hfs is very important, so there will be no direct way to change config (.ini) or filesystem (.vfs) uploading a file.

Perhaps, if you are willing to write complex macro-code, you could look if some special text file is uploaded, could 'load' it and make some decisions ,depending of the content, with macros. But this will be a lot more complex than remote managment.

Salut :)

Good remote control softwares are also TeamViewer http://www.teamviewer.com/index.aspx and CrossLoop http://www.crossloop.com/de/index.html (for downloading CrossLoop, JavaScript must be enabled). Both are freewares.

Concerning TeamViewer they control if you exceed using the program 35 hours a month. When exceeded 35 hours a month there will pop up a warning about "Commercial use", you click OK, all is fine, and TeamViewer is going on strong as before :)

CrossLoop has better graphic resolution, but seems to run a little slower therefore.
