Hi I ran a test on HFS server and it says that it was successfull however when i try to open the site from another location, it simply wont open. The only wierd thing I see is that HFS is connected to port 7000 and not 80 for some reason

Maybe your port 80 is being used by something else you are running.  If port 7000 is being used, your server IP address would be like this -> your ip address:7000

Ye, my isp actually blocks people from using port 80, to stop people utilizing the free uploads. So i just use a different one and put the port on the end of my url, bit of a hassle, but works a treat.

Hi, thanks for your reply

I was working all day to configure my router to forward port 80 but still no use.(not even port 81). So i connected my modem directly and forwarded the port 81 in the modem and the testing said it is successful. im able to view the site on my pc but but not on another. Any help appreciated.

Maybe you are giving your remote users the wrong IP to connect to your server.  Go to this site -> http://www.myipresolve.com/ to get your external IP.  That is the IP you give to your users so they can connect to your server.  You don't connect locally with that IP.  Locally use localhost or 127.0.0.1.

then your HFS works well.
you are making something wrong when you "open from another location", like specifying the wrong address.
consider that the test is another computer over the internet that connects to your HFS, so: it just works.
try with 3-4 friends over the internet, and you should see it working.
