You can use a browser or download manager which support files that large.
Or you can make a split archive in WinRAR (when creating archive, choose Volume Size and enter 2.000.000.000). This makes the files smaller than 2 Gigs, which is good for all browsers/download managers.
Cheers,

Martok

HFS works fine... the problem is on the other side.
All browsers we know were not made compatible with big files.

New to HFS, but see good potential.  I am looking to use it in conjunction with Hamachi, to create a secure network environment in which my college age kids can download their favorite TV shows which have been recorded to a large multi-terabyte server rack located in my home.  I read above that the problems I have experienced with my large (typical 2.8GB 1 hour shows) is recipient browser related.  During testing, I have noted that I "can" in most cases, right click and use the Save As dialog to save them to the remote machine.

Can someone with more knowledge with HFS describe the "actual" problem further and explain to us all the file size limitations of an HFS / browser-based solution?

Thanks much, Mark

The limitations are browser related.  This was tested a while back in this forum.  You can do a search for the actual threads.  Browser limitations: Internet Explorer-2 GB, Opera-2 GB and Firefox-4 GB.

Regarding Firefox: The 4GiB limit is only for Firefox 1.5 - it does no more exist in Firefox 2.0, tested with 10GiB, downloaded just fine!
