Date format

Hello Rejetto,

could you please add an option to use a different than the OS's format for date/time? So this would be changing the ShortDateFormat variable?
Like:

InputQuery('Change Format', 'Enter new Format:',ShortDateFormat);It would be nice to have HFS showing ISO dates and the rest of the OS is still in local format.

This would also be possible (and easier to implement, i think).
Or another symbol, %iso-timestamp%. But I think a checkbox would be enough.

I agree. That's all that is needed if you were going to implement it. Enabling that wouldn't change the o/s datestamp would it?

I've changed my O/S timeformat to ISO long ago. I would vote for the suggested ISO-checkmark ...
or better: change the HFS default to the ISO date format and make a checkmark for the OS date format for users who don't want to stick to the standard.

Probably you're right. I think most user even don't know what it means.

Maybe i'm too lazy to find out what a date notation like 06/04/10 07:15 means: june or april, early morning or evening, in which time zone on earth?

I don't know beacuse I don't know the other 50 %, but I think for those who know it would be great to have such an option in HFS.

If the majority of computer users used the ISO dates, I would say enable by default. However, I doubt very much that most people know what ISO dates are or really care. Everybody sets up their o/s with the date and timestamp style that they are familiar with for the region that they are from. I, myself, don't use ISO dates and have no problem figuring out what month, day, year or time of day or night it is. Date and timestamp styles shown in file lists may differ from site to site, but I don't find that to be an issue. Those dates and times are usually irrelevant to the person going over the file list to begin with as it is the filename that is important.

for iso-time-stamp on/off
and by default hfs can use the OS's default

I agree with you: those who care can enable ISO-Dates, and those who don't... simply ignore it.
