i forgot to answer
i don't think this is a sensed feature: if someone want to stop HFS it can just kill the process.
indeed no other server i know do such thing, this is meaningful.

hi folks,

reckon hfs is great but would be even better with some more futures like upload restriction i.e. filesize per folder / user or traffic etc

here my question, is there anything similar to hfs for irc??

thx for answers

keep up the good job, thx

you will find it in beta24
i'm back on the code, fixed a couple of bugs.
i will test this beta for few days before releasing it because i fear about instability on exit.
if someone wants to give it a try in the while, contact me privately.

and so it has been said... and hopefully it shall be done ;)

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Uploading : Auto Renaming If File Exist!
« on: October 22, 2005, 05:44:33 PM »
I think HFS MUST have a feature that will rename a new uploaded file if a file with the same name already exist in the upload area. The file can be renamed via numerical increment... u know like the (1)filename.doc then if exist it will rename it to (2)filename.doc etc..etc...

Come has it to my mind if a new file being uploaded will be served by a dialog box whether want to overwrite or rename. I think such dialog only would make things worse. Say if John already uploaded a file called readme.txt and then Jane also wanted to upload readme.txt ... Jane won't care more or less and watta heck u asked me to upload the readme.txt okay here am i, uploading the file that you wanted and I wont care if my file will overwrite your existing file... so in short it is better to have the auto renaming feature.

ahh yes ... that's true but using a multi-user system is one thing,
but HFS having with such an option is another  :D

couldn't you just use a multi-user system?
in windows XP user 1 doesn't see programs user 2 is running
sorry for being late

I am new to HFS and found out what a great program HFS is and are now using HFS beta23. It will be there sitting on my tray 24/7 whenever my PC is running. Anyway that 24/7 couldnt reach it's goal since some dont-know-what-it-is punk will click HFS tray icon where HFS will be maximized and quit it by clicking
  • - the multiplication look alike thing at to most upper right of a window.

"Confirm exit" doesnt help much since the dont-know-what-it-is punk will be eager to click Yes since the dont-know-what-it-is punk doesn't know what difference does it make when "Yes" or "No" is clicked. That's one thing.

Besides I am also requesting that HFS will require a password whenever Right-Button on the tray does not maximize HFS window but will only pulling up the all the option listing and whenever 'Exit' is chosen it will require one to enter a password.

Thanks in advance.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Auto URL Copy Problem
« on: June 02, 2004, 03:18:14 AM »
The AUTO-COPY URL dont work very well... It does not include the port number.  So have to manually copy the address from the ADDRESS field to get the true http address i.e. http address with the port number.
