Hej Rejetto,

You are right my friend, I can't believe it. Is this a (strange) behaviour of HFS? I have played before with other programs that work as a server but they could be accessed from the same PC using its external IP. I just tried to access the shared files from my Iphone, this time not using the WIFI but 3G connection, and it worked fine.

Does it matter if I use the local IP or the external IP in HFS address bar?????????

Mille gracia amico,

flyingmtm

Hello Rejetto,

Why can't I check the HFS shared files using the same computer but typing the external IP in the webbrowser or any other PC in the LAN? It should work fine I think. The selftest does something similar isn't it from my own PC.

Anyway if you want to try, my address is flyingmtm.dyndns.org and the port is 192 on my pc and 15015 on my laptop.

Thxs, Flyingmtm

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Can't get access to website from outside my LAN

Hallo friends,

After reading for more than two evenings on HFS related problems I finally decided to ask for your help in order to get the HFS stuff to work. I have done many things already but still without positive results. I can see locally on my LAN the shared files but when I try to access it from outside it doesn't work. This is what I have tried already:

1.Portforwarding of port 80, 8080, 9090, 50000 one by one on my Baudtec Wireless Modem/Router TW263R4-A0. By example 192.168.1.5 forwarded to the ports mentioned above, one at the time off coarse. Info required from www.portforward.com
2.HFS updated to latest revision V2.3 beta 207
3. HFS installed as well on my second computer (laptop) and tried similar tests. Still NOK
4. External IP address required via www.watismijnip.nl inorder to type that address into the webbrowser with the portnumber behind the ':' By example http://85.74.188.47:8080
5. Firewalls are all off, windows as well as the Baudtec's internal FW
6. I have resetted the Baudtec router but NOK
7. First time (yesterday) even the selftest went wrong but today after having powered off and on the pc at least the selftest is OK, strange but true. Eventhough externally site not visible.
8. I have tried to use also using my flyingmtm.dyndns.org alias to access the shared files from HFS but as well NOK

In HFS what kind of address do I have to use to share files to the internet? My local IP or my external IP? I mean the http://192.168.1.5:8080 or http://85.74.188.47:8080 by example???

What the heck can I have missed, I am kind of desperate, who can give me some hints.

Thxs guys in advance for any help,

Flyingmtm ???
