HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: HFS working great... then stopped!

Hi,

The solution turned out to be simple but unexpected.  The entry for HFS in the Windows firewall had to be deleted, then HFS had to be run and then firewall permission granted once more.  I'm running HFS from a usb stick and it seems that this proceedure has to be gone through each time HFS is used.  Not sure if that's the case if running it from my desktop; probably not.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / HFS working great... then stopped!

Hi,

Although it's easy to describe my problem it's hard to know what suggestions anybody could offer, but here goes.....

Having configured my router to allow and forward HFS I ran the self test; everything was fine.  Then I set up an account with no-ip and managed to access my files via the web without problems.

Hardly 2 hours later HFS self test fails, telling me I'm behind a router.  Obviously I rechecked my router settings but it all looked fine, nothing had changed. I've since run the self test several times with the same result.

In HFS under 'IP address' I have selected 'Find External Address', this is what it was set to before and worked  o.k. previously. It shows my external address (8X.X04.X71.3X:8080/ ['X' added for privacy]) but all attempts to connect fail.

My router is configured to 'Send to LAN Server' 192.168.0.2 (the ip address shown when HFS first opens) although the router login is actually at 192.168.0.1 - not sure if that makes a difference, although as it was working before I can't see how.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Any information I can add to this to aid diagnosis please let me know.

Regards

Steve Knight
