HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Problem?

When i enter my file servers ip address in firefox twice like this: http://76.26.X.XX:5019/http://76.26.X.XX:5019/
it bypasses the user name and password protection and it goes straight through without having to login. Is this a problem
with me or hfs?
