HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Passwords
« on: August 02, 2009, 10:36:53 PM »
I don't think there is any way of doing it from within HFS but you might be able to set up a macro to edit the file which contains the users and passwords (I don't remember which file that is or if it is even possible).

OP = Original Poster

I have to wonder too, how do you go through the internet with JS disabled?

Tested in Windows XP pro, confirmed negative.
Next monday I will test it on a Windows NT system. (Don't have access to it on the weekend)

router & port problems / Re: All the help you need
« on: May 23, 2008, 02:30:39 AM »
A lot of people may have problems with the program/router but just as many if not more have had great experiences...

I don't know about other people, but when I see someone spamming after asking for help I sudden;y have the urge not to help them. If you want help post as much information as possible, the more we know the more likely we are able to help you. Google search if other people have had problems with your router, try different ports, see if any errors come up, try running HFS on a different computer, don't give up and don't start spamming the forum just because you can't get it to work.

oh and would i have to buy a 600$ router for this to work?

No you don't need a $600 router, I have a fairly cheap D-Link router that works perfectly fine with HFS.

This has very little to do with HFS, but all templates, I think, made by RAWR Designs have a built in chat system ready to go, all you have to do is read the online docs and you should have it up and running.

If you are running windows open up the command prompt by pressing WIN+R and then typing in "cmd", a black window should appear with white text. Type in the command "ipconfig" and check that under IP Adress it says 10.0.0.2, that is your internal IP and your router should forward the port to that address. Ensure that the port opened in you router is the same as in HFS and finally check your external IP to ensure you are trying to connect to the right computer.

Get HFS to run a self test to see if everything is working correctly

This is Linux command to Red Chief and Blue Leader, please clear this frequecy and your hard-drive. If you wish to continue using this frequency you will need to verify you *nix based OS with the High Command.

Ubuntu has located the virus Windows Vista Ultimate
Would you like to:
(a) Format hard-disk
(b) Install Ubuntu
(c) Give money to opensource software
(d) Leave Vista installed (sell your soul to the devil)

But seriously does SP1 mess with HFS? I was thinking of installing it, but now I'm not so sure... I have Vista 32 bit so it may work a little better/differently but I don't know.
I think I will backup my HDD and try installing it, if I do I'll keep you guys posted here.

Update:
Just installed SP1 with Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit and HFS seems to be working fine.

RAWR-Designs / Re: wma playback? plz help, thankz alot
« on: February 23, 2008, 05:28:22 PM »
It may be true that using WMP will put too much of a toll on the server computer, but isn't it possible to extend the playback capabilities of your flash player to include WMA files? Also shouldn't it be possible to change how the template calls the DivX web player so that it will play WMV files?

Bug reports / Re: Garbled output on Firefox?
« on: February 16, 2008, 10:27:45 PM »
That is rather odd, it may be a problem with Firefox itself(maybe some setting you changed) try reinstalling Firefox and see if the problem persistes. If you don't want to lose your settings in Firefox I suggest you download Portable Firefox(http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable) that way you won't lose your current settings.

I have used HFS on a couple different USB thumb drives and I have never had a problem, but with out having access to your external hard drive there is no way to tell if that is the source of the problem. I suggest your try using your external hard drive and HFS on another computer and see if the same symptons appear, if they do it means it is on your hard drive, either a problem with the drive itself or the software on it. (Maybe a virus) I suggest your run a virus scan on both your computer and the external hard drive to remove that possibility.

Good luck, I hope you get it sorted out.

RAWR-Designs / Re: RAWR-Template-0.0.5 BETA
« on: February 16, 2008, 03:04:50 AM »
I just downloaded 0.0.5 to try it out and when I clicked the "check for updates" button it said that I have version 0.0.5.

I am guessing it is because you forgot to update the build number

Wow, that is using a LOT of ram. Try upgrading to beta 177 and see if there is a change, maybe it is because you were serving something out?

That black template is quite nice! In an earlier post you were talking about hiding the shoutbox area until the user put an ID number into the code, I think that is a great idea; you should also impliment this into the update procedure. Just make the box hidden and when ever the template is access from localhost/127.0.0.1 get it to check for updates, if there are no updates then nothing happens, if there are updates make the update box appear in the same area it is in now and tell the user there is an update available.

I'm not sure about whether or not it is possible, but it would be a nice feature to have.
