Specifically, from the context menu.

Let me explain more into detail. When I add stuff through the context menu in explorer, it's usually just something I want to share fast and temporarily. What I'd like is: I can add a file, and it would remove itself after a certain time limit from the virtual file system.

So, my proposal: Add somewhere in the options, to make it so additions added from context menu only last a certain time, and make it so if its left blank, it's disabled.

It would be useful for me, and probably for others as well.

I didn't bother searching the forums for it, because I don't really know what to search for.

Thanks in advance. Oh, and in case it is already in HFS, excuse me then. I searched through the list a long while, but couldn't find something that functions like that...

Well, keep up the good work!

Aziere out.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Rejetto: Using source for own deviation?

Well. In another topic, you said you couldn't add every single feature. But my intention would be to do so.

Both have their ups and downs, but I believe in customization. Everyone should be able to have things exactly like they want to.

Well. That's what I think at least.

Though. Having every option in a single program would be quite the resource hog... so the only way to do it right is having modules that you can choose to load or not.

So then I may just as well create a similar program from scratch. Because changing everything would be too bothersome.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Sharing Folders?

Not as of yet. But you can always share a zipfile instead. And adding files to a zipfile is easy too, just drop stuff in it.

If you run it through some ssh server it should be quite secure. So I don't see any problem with sending confidential stuff through it.

Alright then. I'll begin when you release the next version. Just kidding. I probably won't. But it's good to know that the possibility is there.

As for not helping him develop it... it's because we have different views on what it should be like.

Rejetto.

Is it allowed to release a program based on your sourcecode with modifications? If so, what is necessary to do for it to be legal?

I've tried reading the GPL license. But I can't understand it.

Any input would be welcomed.

Here's my dilemma. I want to have a public upload folder, which has it's contents hidden (already done that with file filter and folder filter) and that can't be downloaded from (check http://www.rejetto.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2683).

But I also want every user to have a private upload folder, which they can also download from. (Easily done)

Though the problem is: I want the public upload folder to be accessed by anonymous people only, and making sure logged-in users use their own folder. (So they don't upload to the anonymous upload folder, which will have less priority when it comes to checking and cleaning.)

So: A "restrict access -> Anonymous" would be nice.

Thank you for your time.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the option could also be something along the lines of "Hide from logged-in users".

Let download is a must for upload folders as well. Sure file filter is good. But people can still download from it if they know the filename. Can be quite hazardous if several people are to share a upload folder, and something private has been uploaded.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Auto-Hiding empty folders
« on: January 06, 2006, 06:04:13 AM »
Me again. :P

I thought of another feature. Auto-Hiding folders which have no contents.

Can be quite practical, since most usually don't delete folders (if they're used regulary) just because they're empty. They keep them so when the next time they need to put something in there, they won't have to create new folders. (Saves quite much time after a while)

But it's very annoying for people browsing the server just to see empty folders. (takes up bandwidth as well... arguably not much, but can with time be quite alot) So having an option to "flag" a folder to auto-hide itself when it's empty would be nice.

Either way. Keep on the good work!

Hello. My first post :P

I've been using HFS for a few days now, and it seriously rocks. (Much better than anything corporate) And I've set up a private server for my friends to use.

But, I can't find a certain feature.

I want to make a folder which everyone can browse in (to see what is there), but not being able to download the contents.

Sorry if this has already been covered, I tried searching, but I'm no good at that :/

Either way, I would love such a feature.
