router & port problems / your internet connection doesn't work

When I try to do the "self-test", I obtein the following message:
"your internet connection does not work".
I have a router SPEEDTOUCH  THOMSON ST585 and I configure port forword according the guide of http://portforward.com/.
Can someone help me?
