This is a great little program i have lots of uses in mind.  

Is there a way to:
    is there a physical directory into which i can place files that will show up on the web page?
    on startup it would be nice to minimize to system tray or run as a service

i shall write a little documentation about it

you can drag&drop a folder on HFS (only one), and it will ask you if it should treat that folder as a physical one (the so called auto-updated folder)
