Hi there,
i was looking around for all the "download speed issues" mailings, but found only reasons because of the low upload speed. therefor i need to open a new topic.
I own a Vdsl-Connection in Germany with 10 Mbps upload speed and 50Mbps download, which are also available told by some speedtests.
If i run hfs and someone downloads a file, it will be only around 150 /200 KBps which are around 1.5 / 2 Mps .
If one starts a dl-manager, i can see 4 or 5 threads downloading in hfs and each will have around 150 / 200 KPbps. That means, clients using dl-managers can max out my upload bandwidth, but no single connection.
Now the question: I have no limitting upload speed defined. What is limitting the single thread upload to 150 K ? btw: testing this inside lan gives me much higher rates. So it must be something by the internetconnection.
Any ideas ?
A.

are you using hfs 2.2 or 2.3 ?
on the forum there's a special release of 2.2 which solves the speed problem if you don't want to pass to 2.3
