Hi There-
New to HFS, quick question, Comcast states:" According to the Terms of Service, you cannot run a server on any Comcast residential account for the purpose of external usage. This includes FTP, HTTP, POP3/SMTP, telnet or any other service that users can access via the Internet". I just want to know if I am beating my head against the wall
trying to get HFS to work? At first I thought I was having port forwarding problems like everyone else but now I'am
thinking it is something else. Any thoughts ??? ( I apologize if this has been asked before )

The problem settles between you and your internet access provider, if it is stipulated in your contract that you have no right to accommodate a server with the indicated protocols, you risk that your subscription is suspended or deleted. It is possible that your internet access is routed by an internet bridge which is configured to blockade ports concerned protocols. In that case I can only advise you to make out a will hfs by using ports which are not in relations with the blocked protocols. Best is to test ports beyond 1024 as 10000( or above)

If you possess a router at home, it will be necessary to open the port corresponding there listen to for the external users, so the selftest of hfs should work with no problem at all.
Summits all the same indeed attention which too much traffic towards your address IP risks to arouse the suspicions of your provider.

Well, While it WAS Comcast my HFS worked. Now it is Xfinity and my HFS doesn't work any longer. Tried port 8080. No go. Any work arounds?
