Title: Stunnel and certificate question...
Post by: Lexs on April 24, 2010, 02:16:52 PM
Hello guys, I'm kind of new to this but I can catch on pretty quick. I have setup hfs an I would like to secure it with stunnel, now I can connect to hfs in/out of my network I also followed these instructions http://www.rejetto.com/wiki/index.php/HFS:_Secure_your_server, to setup stunnel now the question I have is when setting up a certificate it ask for a common name which is my external ip the problem is that my external ip connects to my security cameras on port 80 an i setup hfs with a open port ex. 5050 so when it ask for a common name should I put 67.xxx.xxx.xxx:5050 or without the port?  Thanks...

Welcome Lexs  :)

e.g.:

CN=your_domain.com

or

CN=your_IP

The port is not necessary for create the certificate.

it is easier if you use dyndns.com. in stead of 79.xxx.xxx.xxx your ip could be something like this "myip.webhop.net"

and P.S. what security camera setup do you have i want to get some for my house and have it over the internet so i can see it where ever i am
