Title: Blocked by DynDNS! :(
Post by: Dave on February 05, 2010, 03:25:25 PM
My account has been blocked by DynDNS for this reason:

"Your update client identified as HFS/2.3 beta is sending updates every few seconds which is causing your host name to be blocked for update abuse. You'll want to resolve the issue with this client or use a different one for updating. http://www.dyndns.com/support/clients/"

Where is the problem? how to solve it?

Thank you.

don't use dyn dns from hfs, but install the dyndnsclient, they can't block their software. ;)

This one seems to work fine. http://cdn.dyndns.com/windows/DynUpSetup.exe

My account is blocked automatically when I enable 'DynDNS Wizard' from HFS.
Works fine with 'DynDNS Updater'.

I wouldn't know because hfs's dydns updater worked fine for me.

Many router companies have a free dns service.

I use dlinkddns with my dlink router (the router updates my external ip automatically). Then I setup a CNAME record for www.myurl.com to direct to username.dlinkddns.com.

If you run and rerun often HFS, it's better for you to use the DynDNS Updater (or, if your router allows it, add your account)
DynDNS will banned you temporarily if the requests at their service are too numerous and too closely spaced in time.
