I can run hfs by double clicking on it and it starts and loads a template and virtual file system. This is on a Windows 7 32 bit OS PC.
I used srvany and have the same hfs set up as a service. The service starts but hfs does not load the template or file system. Any idea how to fix that?

try ensuring the service is running by the same user you login in Windows.
most of times services are ran under different users.

I've got exactly the same problem. I used srvany to create the service but i can't load any template or vfs.
I thought it was a problem caused by some settings, so i navigated the menus. Now the settings are saved into hfs folder, in hfs.ini, but it didn't help. I also changed the user that starts the service. Now it starts with my normal account but the problem is still there. :(
Any ideas?
PS. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x64
EDIT. @Rejetto. I mispelled "or" in the first sentence. i wanted to say "can't load any template or vfs" :-[

1. what you mean by "load any template of vfs" ? try being clearer
2. i think this problem is generic for running many non-service programs as a service, so if no one will help you on this forum, consider finding a generic solution on google

When running a program as a service, windows looks for an "ini" file to start it off...
take a look at rejeto's wiki for ini files setting to "stream line" the vfs...
