Title: Virtual File Sys Keeps Deleting Itself??

I need help!
I had my HFS Running for a long time now with no problems, But I woke up today to see there is nothing in the "VFS" Section of the program!
No file or anything is there anymore!
Ive tried to recover other HTML Files but none of them have my original directories available.

Please can someone help! If I have to remake the list it's gonna take me a month to get it back to where it was!

1. Menu -> Save file system.
2. Menu -> Start/Exit -> Reload on startup VFS file previously open
3. Menu -> Start/Exit -> Autosave VFS on exit
4. Menu -> Save Options -> Autosave options on exit

Check your settings for above.  It is good practice to always make a backup of your most recent *.vfs, hfs.ini, and *.tpl files.

I can't tell you why you lost your file system; But if you have saved regularly your .vfs file, you will find in the directory where you had saved your file system, one or some *.bak files.

He'll just rename this / these file(s) by changing the extension .bak in the extension .vfs and reload the file with HFS.

You keep the one that seems more up to date.

Otherwise the general rule for avoid this is to always keep in a safe place, a recent copy of hfs.ini file and of your file system *.vfs

But I always save a backup!
-Ive tried to reload the previous but even that is blank!
I save the back up's to the hard drive & there all visible from browsing my local disk but HFS Doesn't recognize anything!

Strange Eh!
I have tried rebooting the machine & running the previous HFS File System & still nothing!
Arrgh!

Try this:

- Keep in a safe place your .vfs and hfs.ini files.

- Menu > Save options > Clear options and quit

- put the hfs.ini file in the folder of hfs.exe

- re run HFS

- Reload your .vfs file

- Optional: Do a little prayer.  ;)

Thanks for all the help guy's. But I think im F*CK'd!
Tried -Resetting from .BAK to . HFS- No Change.
- Reload the ini & nothing!

Doesn't surprise me though!
I always end up with the problems no one has ever even heard about!
Im pretty sure it's not a flaw anywhere in HFS!
HFS is the best thing i have found in years of searching!
I Just have sh*T 4 Luck!

Honestly the only thing I can attribute to this is-

May-bee one of my PC Diagnostic tools Mistook thaT VFS file as Unnecessary & deleted it!
Although I cant even find it in my recycle bin!

so, your backupped vfs file doesn't work either? :/
