hello world
I use hfs more than 1 year, but recently stopped working.
I tried to change the ports in the router and in windows firewall but does not go
The test tells me:
the test falied: server does not answer.
you are behind a router.
ensure it is configured to forward port 666 to your computer
but the port is open....
I'm becoming mad...please help me
-
welcome!
please post/attach a screenshot of how port 666 is configured on your router?
-
here are the immage...
the first is the router... the port 9876 and the port 12345 are the old port that worked
the second immage is hfs
is one week that does not work
-
your rule UDP 666 not necessary.
is the url http://127.0.0.1:666/ working ?
if YES, look (expert mode) at 'MENU > accept connections on > any address' if checked ?
-
the url http://127.0.0.1:666/ don't work....
and at 'MENU > accept connections on > any address' IS checked
i can't understand what happened......it's always worked
-
i've deleted the udp port in the router and in windows firewall... but don't work the same
in hfs I always see "Requested GET /" every time I refresh the page.... but nothing happens
-
the url http://127.0.0.1:666/ don't work....
if this url (= localhost) does not work (or what do you men by 'dont'work'?), then maybe your template is corrupted. Try with the standard template!
I always see "Requested GET /" every time I refresh the page....
what page are you refreshing if nothing works ??
-
bacter is right, it's like your template is broken, and it has nothing to do with your router!
copy on the forum your template
Menu > edit html template
and copy also
right click on the home > advanced > diff template
-
sorry but I don't speek english well....
I had already changed the old template with the defoult but still does not work....
this is my old template (that has always worked) but now I use the defoult

not customized
I've found it on

and copy also
right click on the home > advanced > diff template
I've tried with the original and with the mod template but nothing changes
-
ok, i've tried the template and had not your problem.
something is blocking your HFS. i doubt the problem is in your HFS configuration, it must be some other security software.
-
I tried to disable all protections .... windows firewall, router firewall ... but nothing to do....
there is a way to reset hfs?
-
To see if hfs.exe is dammaged in some way, close it and install in another directory a actual beta, use the same port and the standardtemplate and look if this works. If it works, add one account and a minimal filesystem to check further.
So you can see if there exists a problem with your old hfs or with your operating system and security features.
-
and MENU >DEBUG > Temporaly Reset Options
to disable this reset, click on the button 'restore my options', or close and run hfs.exe
-
Maybe it's crazy, but... some antivirus/firewall softwares can block all your traffic on different than standard ports for browsing if they are switched in panic mode... Be sure all your antivirus/firewall are configured correctly...

Same problem occured here last week and even did a format c, firmware of router and hard reset on that, nothing worked.
Today I had a friend in amsterdam on the phone and she has the same problem started last week as well.
"I wonderd if our isp has some to do with this"
When no router attatched it is working tho, but only on port 80 so I redid router config and used port 80
hfs working fine again but only on port 80 .... kinda strange .... I guess our isp blocks off ports to use as an answer but I could be mistaken.
Does anyone here has any idea how come hfs all the sudden only works on port 80 ?
I hope this is usefull info for the once that encounter problems.
Sindce HFS rocks! and is a free program, I took an efford to try and help solve this problem and share the knowledge.
good luck to the once experience this problem, I realy hope you be able to solve your problem.
Kind regards from here

i had the same problem. the first thing i checked was that my dsl box was forwarding that port to my router and that my router forwaded the port to my computer. it didnt work. i later changed my ip address of my computer using tcp/ip settings and it instantly worked (dont forget to change router forward to your computer again)
sorry if this didnt make any sense, i just typed it really fast.

i friend of mine told me to used port 80 on hfs
it works fine now
