Title: Page Load Error While Trying To Access Outside Of LAN!
Post by: blackxxxer on March 25, 2009, 02:18:49 AM
Hey,

I really like the software & I'm planning to donate as soon as i can get it working properly. I've setup my HFS to port 1990 and I've forwarded my port correctly on my AuctionTec router, But i keep running into the same issue. when trying to access my files remotely (outside my lan) I keep getting an page load error, I asked my friend to test it and he could not access the files either. When i went to the file with my own brower inside my LAN everything was fine. Also my Self test is showing up as passes so the problem can't be with that. Does anyone know whats  going on and how i can make it so other people outside my lan can access my HFS files/server.

Thank you! ;D

if self test shows ok, then the problem seems to be that you and your friend are trying to use your local ip. From ouside your lan, you must use your external IP!  ;)

welcome!
just after the self test, note the IP address showing in the address bar of HFS.
and be sure to use THAT address when you goes outside your LAN.
