Title: how do other people outside my internet connection access my HFS?
Post by: Sam on March 16, 2009, 10:39:50 PM
so the HFS shows me that my site is "http//192.168.1.105/" but when other people try to go there, the site doesnt load. it only works with people who are connected to my internet. how do i make it so that they can actually download things off my HFS?

That's you internal IP address.  If you want people to access your server via the internet they need you external IP address.  If you don't know what that is, you can get it here -> http://www.ip-adress.com/

That's the address you give to the people you want to access your server.  (make sure you have it turned on).

the best method is to do "self test".
the self test will tell you if it is all ok.
if it is ok, it will also give you the correct address to give to your friends.
