Title: HFS as an Productive "homepage"? is it secure?
Post by: Willmaster on January 10, 2009, 06:51:36 AM
im using HFS on one of my servers to let people easy access my Files

it works fine, i edited the Template how i need it
(with Banner and some ads , login etc. removed , some Links added)

the code is stable and 100% secure, i just want to know if the HFS software Itself is "secure" against Hacking attacks etc.?
(bugusing etc. - i dont mean i.e. an DDoS attack)

im using 2.2e 154 on Windows Server 2008 x86

Greets from Austria

ah,and 2 another quick questions - is it allowed to remove the Version and the Link to the Producer in the Footer?
and can i use my own favicon?

1. there's no known security issue in HFS. And when there was one, it was fixed in few days (like 1-3). When an update is released you get warned (unless you disabled this option).
This is "secure" enough for me, but it's up to you. Nothing is granted ;)

2. yes, you can remove the whole footer.

3. just put a favicon file in the root/home (must be linked by the template with <link>)
