Title: IP problem?
Post by: Ryan J on December 03, 2008, 10:54:38 AM
Hi Rejetto,
Thanks again for this wonderful program.
I have a problem but im not sure whether its my network or HFS.
In my LAN network there are eight computers all of which have different ip-addresses (i have checked using ipconfig)
the trouble is when a user visits the site it shows them as being 192.168.0.5
Therefore if I ban one person it bans every one
Part of my log is shown here:
11:57:50 AM alex@192.168.0.5:55223 Requested GET /
11:57:51 AM alex@192.168.0.5:55223 Request dump
11:56:20 AM jordan@192.168.0.5:54812 Requested GET /
11:56:20 AM jordan@192.168.0.5:54812 Request dump

They are clearly logged in as different people but show with the same ip
Any help would be appreciated ;D
Thanks
Ryan J

1. you can disable accounts, if your files are protected it will mimic a ban. ;)
2. there must be a reason if they are always shown with same IP. are you using stunnel, proxies or other kind of intermediary system? (don't consider your router)

I use a proxy system yes but I want to keep the user accounts and ban the ip addresses.
Thanks

i guess your friends have the proxy set in their browser (internet explorer?).
you should tell the browser to not use the proxy in the local network.

yes it is set in their browser
do you know how I can set IE to use the proxy for internet access but not for the local network?
Thanks
