Hello,
I just started configuring this software and tried to create a group via a new account. Unfortunately, I do not have a group option to check under account properties. I do have an enabled box and an ignore limits box - just no group box. Why is this and what can I do? I would like to create groups, if possible.
Also, I noticed that once a user has typed in the user name and password, then they are always "logged on" even if they close their browser. Is there a way that will limit how long they can be logged on and able to access files?

groups are available in latest beta version (2.3).
if you are using current official version (2.2), that has no group.
if the browser is closed, the user is logged off.
that is not handy, i know, it will be better in the future.
if anyway it didn't work for you, i guess you closed the tab/page and not the whole browser. you must close the whole browser.

Is it a good idea for a new person to download the 2.3 beta version? I have 2.2d(152). If I should update, can I do it easily through the software itself? Can I install over 2.2d?

yes, it's a good idea in my opinion.
the update is very easy for official versions.
anyway, you want to update from an official to a beta, and that requires you to enable the specific option you can find in the "Update" menu.
or you can just download the beta from the "beta" forum board.
you can install it over the old one, that's what the automatic update does.
